I've spent a good deal of time in a cave before as well with no issues. Is Cabin Fever supposed happen in caves as well? I mean the non-transition caves. I'm back in the camp office and the next time I develop a risk I'm off to the cave on the ridge above to see if it works the same.
I never moved up in the cave and my cabin fever risk went to zero. I only had enough wood for a short time so I sheltered in the back and watched my cabin fever risk go down while sleeping in short stints. Went in with a 34% chance and was gathering fire wood to camp in the mouth when the weather kicked in. I got caught in a cave a while back on this run by a blizzard. While staying in buildings I have gotten a risk of cabin fever regularly. I stayed in the back (warm) part to save on firewood because I have never been able to get clothing that will give me a positive temp on this run.
